In 1942 when Dr. Kailash Chand Jain (Bhaiji) a visionary started his Toy factory with the first toy being a Tin Car with moving wheels. This was a big achievement indeed, as those were the days when cheap imported toys from Japan had flooded the Indian toy market and nobody dared to make toy cars made in India. On the occasion of Janamashtmi in the year 1942, he took his toys to Birla Mandir in Delhi and displayed his toys on the roadside and his marketing punch line was “Bharat Mein Bani Car Do-Do Anne,’ (indian made car for 2 anna) at the end of the day he managed to sell his entire stock. It fetched him Rupees Twenty Four. He thought to himself- India is a vast country with several festivals across the country throughout the year and thus exists a huge potential to market Indian made toys. Only thing he had to do was find ways to reach the consumer. This realization marked the beginning of our success story. Over the years having made various mechanical and battery operated toys, Mr. Dinesh Jain and Mrs. Meenakshi Jain, the second generation involved in the family business, started the present line of MASOOM playmates in 1980s with a 6” soft doll called “Betty” eventually developing over 400 successful products across different categories of toys. Today, Mr. Kartik Jain, the third generation of the family business carries on the legacy by transcending into new dimensions of the toy market worldwide with a greater focus on widening the market reach and delivering products that give higher value to customers.
